Democracy is Just a Click Away!®

This site has been developed to encourage public participation in legislative and policy initiatives. We understand that many citizens are interested in the political process, and this free, non-partisan service was created to make participation easy and accessible to all. Let us not forget that under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, freedom of speech and public participation are the cores of our democracy and enable us, the citizens, to strive to create a fair and just government. If we do not exercise our right to participate in governmental matters, we forego the success that was achieved by our country's founders more than two hundred years ago. The active participation of citizens in government helps to secure the future of a healthy democracy for generations to come.

Controversy is inherent in public participation. After all, if all citizens agreed on all issues, there would be no need for public initiatives! Sadly, citizens are occasionally subjected to threats and intimidation for exercising their rights to participate in the process of creating better laws and public policies. This intimidation sometimes takes the form of a retaliatory lawsuit for "libel," "slander" or "intentional interference with contractual relations". There is even an acronym for this type of intimidation, SLAPP, which stands for Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation.

SLAPPs are a violation of civil rights and threaten the core values of democracy. We strongly disagree with any tactics that may used to deter us from promoting public participation. Any adverse actions taken by person, entity or interest group against e-legislativeaction.com can look forward to the publication of all letters, documents, court filings and transcripts of telephone threats on this web site for all citizens to view and judge.

Our goal is to encourage participation in public policy issues by giving citizens an easily accessible forum in which to voice their views. We will be expanding this site on an ongoing basis, so be sure to check back with us frequently for new initiatives.
